Llandudno Extravaganza, Llandudno, North Wales

The Llandudno Extravaganza is Llandudno's largest festival and street fair which takes over the town every May Day Bank Holiday weekend.

Mostyn Street is blocked to traffic and is lined with shows, stalls, and rides that are in keeping with Llandudno's Victorian past.

Each day at around midday a parade takes places up Madoc Street, along Gloddaeth Avenue, and down the promenade of Victorian steam engines, old motor vehicles, and music.

At the Llandudno Extravaganza you can walk amongst the stalls, play traditional fairground games of skill and chance, or enjoy rides on the Merry go rounds, ferris wheels, and helter skelters.

The entire length of Mostyn Street is taken up by the event including Upper Mostyn Street, along with many of the side streets.

The Llandudno Extravaganza draws thousands of visitors to the town over it's three days and accommodation can become somewhat scarce so if you're planning on staying in the town it's best to book early.

Llandudno Transport Festival

The Llandudno Extravaganza is combined with the Llandudno Transport Festival which takes place on Bodafon Fields to the east of the town.

You can reach the fields with a pleasant walk down Llandudno promenade which should take approximately 15 minutes.

There is a small charge for entrance to the transport festival and once inside you can see some of the old lorries and buses as well as fairground stalls and rides.

Llandudno Car Parking Facilities

If you're visiting the extravaganza by car then you're best approaching Llandudno from the West Shore through Deganwy. As Mostyn Street is blocked to traffic the roads around the town centre can become very congested including the promenade.

The best car parking facilities are towards the Great Orme. Two car parks are available on Gloddaeth Avenue which charge or free parking is available on most of the streets. Don't worry about the walk, the majority of Llandudno is very flat.
